CELEBRATING & CONNECTING WOMEN IN THE ARTS

Women were yearning for these types of intimate gatherings where it felt safe to be open about aspirations and career moves without feeling like a self pitch or interview. One woman said, "I normally don't like to go to networking events because they feel so uptight, but this is different, I felt really connected with everyone who attended." Another woman said, "this is the start of something great." Seeing everyone walk away with hope for a future that we can together mold only fueled UWP to continue finding new ways to break down walls, build each other up and foster the relationships we make.

Eventually, all of us will be able to easily find a female writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and department head to hire, mentor, and promote. Because when women hire other women, the visibility of more women increases across the board.
